cutout disadvantages. how much power does a cutout rob from you when closed?
they got the TSP true dual system now with sweet thunder mufflers... alot more restrictive then the average Bullet muffler thats for sure..
and I happen to have a pair of 3inch hedmann cutouts, for racing I'd probably have it open (especially when this car gets the cam) but for daily driving how much power am I losing for having a cutout on there?

The idea that you lose low end torque when you have less backpressure is more of a widely accepted myth. Show me a dyno chart that proves this. I have seen dyno charts prove the opposite so I don't know why people continue to say this.
I don't see how you could lose power with a cutout capped? The only disadvantage I could think of about having a cutout is if you were to not cap it properly and you have an exhaust leak. At least with mine, I keep it open a majority of the time but I noticed that the gasket doesn't last very long if it's taken off and on very often. The gaskets don't cost much at all to replace though.
As for losing low end torque... like someone else said, it's mainly just a myth. Your powerband is shifted upwards to it may feel as though the low end grunt is gone.
Not to go too off topic, but TSP now offers their TD setup with Sweet Thunders?? I'm going to have to look in to this!

with my cutout open there is a big sotp loss in low end torque. just seems like it takes a while for the power to come on, but then it screams. im sure on the dyno you cant measure this difference very well. its not a myth on my car at least, come ride in it ill show you the night and day difference in low end torque with it closed vs open. but its kinda a good thing on street tires.

Verdad Gallardo Flowtech cutouts at least, not sure about other brands, come with flanges that can be welded on to the cutout so you can bolt them up directly to the headers. Most of us regular street cars just put a cutout in the I-pipe since it's cheaper and easier to do. Others have dual cutouts in place of where the cats would normally go.
you dont have to have cutouts....but, even though i have TD's, there are still 16" mufflers on them, and running open headers sounds so much,....meaner. with dual cutouts welded right after the headers, thats what you essentially doing...running open headers..
that kinda kills the point of the duals tho, you might as well have left the stock catback, put the headers on, then cutouts then the Y, save your self 300-500$, but true duals sound plenty mean, i would leave em, save the $300 (electic cutouts) for an LS6 intake
Some people just like to shave every last .1th off their times at the track... don't believe running open headers would be very enjoyable on a daily driver. 
Run TD's or whatever Catback you prefer and have a nice mean tone on the street... flip a switch or remove the plates on your cutouts when you want to be evil or when you're at the track trying for that new best E.T.
No doubt that's the route I'll be taking when I revamp my exhaust setup... dual cutouts off the headers, in to an X-pipe, then out Sweet Thunders dumped out the back.
