QTP header and ory install??

QTP header and ory install?? what is actually needed for installment to work ???? like i have heard with the QTP ory you have to cut the intermediate pipe(i pipe) for it to fit???? is this true??? anyother things like this that need to be done for installment??? will there be any clearance problems with the QTP ory??? my car is stock height.....sorry for all the questions i just need some insight, thanks -Josh
you need 02 extensions, header gaskets if you want to change them out, you will have to cut the I pipe in order for the QTP Y to fit, only because the Y comes with a flowmaster merge collector. It will take some time to adjust the Y pipe to get it fit nicely, some people run into clearance issues with their Y's, but I think it's all in how you adjust it. I had their catted Y and the clearance was pretty good with that when I was lowered, driver's side cat scraped sometimes. I have their ORY and it scraped just as bad as the catted Y, but after I raised my car back to stock height, no more clearance problems.
Yeah, I wouldn't use the paper gaskets that come with the headers. Either buy new gm ones, or stick with your originals. They are metal, and you shouldn't have to replace as your car is only 4 years old.
Also, buy a 10mm gear wrench. It really helps for those hard to reach header bolts.

I just installed the same set up your looking at not to long ago. Everything they have said is pretty much right on, get the o2 extensions, new gaskets, and i suggest new clamps. Also make sure you measure up before installing, I had everything finished but couldnt make the last weld because I didnt have a 4" to 3" reducer needed to complete it all.
