Default Where and how does the Mufflex LS1 Y-Pipe "Bump Stop" Hanger Connnect?

Hi! Just like the title says: "Where and how does the Mufflex LS1 Y-Pipe "Bump Stop" Hanger Connnect?" I'm using the SLP y-pipe with stock manifolds. At low speeds, the y-pipe loves to bang the driver's side floor under hard acceleration. I see that Thunder Racing has a 2.5" Mufflex "Bump Stop." Where would you locate the clamp on the y-pipe and do you have to drill a hole in the floor, or does it use an existing bolt from the car? Thank you in advance for your help!

It mounts on the driver's side...it uses one of the heat shield bolts...here is a pic of mine installed...note: I had to adjust the placement of mine a little to work with the Kooks ORY, but no banging.

I don't mean to hijack your thread bud, but Lawman, what do you mean by adjusting the placement with the Kook's ORY? For the life of me, I can't this thing to work with my Kooks.

I don't know if you can tell from the pic, but I did not install mine the way the Mufflex instructions say to...I just played around with the alignment and orientation until it fit...sorry I can't give you a more concrete answer...trial and error was the method I used...

True. But not everybody has the opportunity to take their whole engine out when doing a simple mod as headers. Thats overkill.

Thanks a lot for the pic! I'm glad to see that the clamp uses an existing bolt on the car. I thought about the Poly mounts, but this looks much easier!

I'm on my way to order from Thunder Racing!

You don't have to take the engine out, or even part of the way out. Just undo the mounts, use a floor jack to hold it while you switch the mounts out. Its still a pain in the butt for most folks, but its not too bad with headers out of the way.

I only ever had to use my engine hoist once to pull an engine out, and that was just because I was putting a different motor in its place I digress...
