Default Is 1k high idle : 98 m6 ?

Picked up a 98 formula WS6 a couple months ago, car runs great, the question I had was what is a normal Idle on a ls1 m6, I remember reading somewere that 1k is the norm, seems a little high to me? My car idles exactly at 1k, and I was wondering if that is high or anything, any thoughts are apreciated, thanks.

Your tach is most likely off. My car shows me idling at 1100rpms and it is actually 875. go figure. This is common so pay no mind. If you really want to know get A-Tap.

You know what's funny? If I have my a/c on then turn it off the tach goes up about 100rpms, but the engine speed goes down. ac on = 925rpms off =875rpms

fella's, i've got a 99 m6 z28. the gauge says i'm taching between 750-800 at idle. when we hooked it up on the hp tuners, it also said i was idling between 750-800. i guess i just got lucky and got a car that the gauge reads it correctly.
