Me either. I almost joined the Navy actually. Plus my best friend, and little brother are both Navy, so I'm trained in the art of Air Force vs. Navy thing.
Either way, we're all on the same team, serving the same bad *** country.

Maybe we are both missing the point. My point is very straight forward, anything above 120dB, there will be hearing loss over time regardless of the source. He was stating 142dB on the side of the car - That is a major problem over time! The frequencies will be different for different type of noise sources (car, AC, etc.) but noise and power (dB) is the issue. I hope this help better understand the issue

to put things in perspective i know that my brother's s2000 with gutted cats at 9k will do spot on 130 db. we used a db meter from one of his freinds at the airport to make this test. of course not everyone rides at 9k but since i have put duals on my ride i wonder what the ta will do. for a fact a ta sounds much louder with duals but the smaller 4cyl can crank out a higher pitch with a 9k rpm redline. it might be next week but i will try to give a post of what my ls1 db is

soo on the same note, what are a good pair of mufflers to bing the noise down a little?

what is ORY? , i think for a street car with side pipes 90db should be the limit by law, theres folks with a/c i know, but some people like to cruise with their windows down and enjoy the sounds of the birds nature stuff on earth you know, or simply just the tones of their exaust, if its got full exaust with tips at the end of course if wont sound the same from inside the vehicle, but think about pedestrians or small children you know, during the day should be acceptable with WOT and at nights lets say only on the expressway bridges or far out roads, what is louder, bullets or corsa?

I guess. And no one ever pointed out that the OP was an idiot to put his mic basically in the pipe his exhaust dumped out. Put the the mic in the car or 50 feet behind it. No one is going to lay on the ground as you drive by. 142db is insane. I don't think the sprint cup cars are that loud and I can't take being in the first few grandstand rows without ear plugs.
I DD'ed a LT/ORY dumped bullet setup for a few years and that wasn't too loud in the car.
