Default anyone know approximately how hot header collectors get?

hey guys i have my edelbrock headers installed and slowly in my spare time i am trying to fix all of the little leaks etc associated with them. for now i have a little bit of a leak where the slip fit collector mounts to the header tubing.
what is the best way to try and seal this? i tried jb weld where it all mounts and i will see how well this holds up, but it says 500 degrees..i am not sure if the collector or tubes will get this hot. i dunno.

anyways any opinionson this would be great.

thanks
louie

I know they make some exhaust cement stuff. You put it on the outside of your collectors and slide on the y-pipe. Clamp it down and the stuff gushes out around the edges, and it hardens up with the heat. A shop used it on my car before and it worked awesome. Its just a pain in the *** when it comes time to take the exhaust off.
