Shop's installation Charge?
I bought a hooker cat back off someone on this site, and now I need to put it on. I talked to someone I know that's a mechanic and they told me he know someone that works at this place called low cost exhaust. Well, he gave hima a call and quoted me at $50. My dad will give me 50 to have them put it on (I was gonna do it myself but my dad thinks I'll mess something up so hes gonna pay out of his pocket to make sure I dont).
Well when I get to the place they seemed to be shoked by me being quoted at $50, they told me to drop the car off in the morning and call me before they work on it to quote me a new price.
How much should a catback installation cost??

not too much, it doesnt take long at all...
and you really cant screw anything up doing it yourself.
The hardest part would be cutting the factory over the axle pipe.
and that isnt even hard...

it took me 5 minutes to put on my tsp rumbler after i cut my old exhaust off...there isn't a way to screw it up. the shop shouldn't charge you more than an hour of labor...so you figure it they are an expensive shop....no more than 70, but I personality wouldn't spend 70..or even 50...it doesn't take long at all..its not like your building an engine.

do it yourself imo. also i would never drop a car off at a shop. i would rather stay and have them give me a qoute in person. sometimes they will start working and fix other crap and then make u pay for it. btw were they really busy? my exhaust shop i go to they will put the car on the lift, check out what needs to be done and give me a price right there, really a no brainer.
