Default How Do I Stop Rust?

ok im gonna be buying the mac midlenths with ORY and was wondering if there is any spray on product i can buy to put a "protective" coating on them? they are going on my daily so its gonna see rain and whatnot so i just dont wanna have to look at nasty rusted headers a year down the road... any help is much appreciated...

A high temp ceramic coating is your best bet. If your car will see any real weather (EAST coast), painted stuff will just not last at all.

I just go in and polish them up whenever I can. That has kept all rust off of my headers so far. Just be sure to do it as often as you can.

If they are already aluminized and you're not a bling-freak
then you may just want to touch up scratches and patches
of rust when they appear. I have had POR-15 high temp
"cast iron gray" on my manifolds for about a year now and
it's holding up really well. I painted them after porting since
I had them off. This stuff -likes- a light coat of rust for
adhesion. Just wire-brush off any loose crust and dab it on
with a little brush, says I. Not like Macs are all that pretty
anyway, if all you want is longevity put this stuff on the
outside and let the soot layer protect the inside
