borla xr1 vs dynatech split flow ?? these mufflers look identical. (oval)
has anyone had experience between the two?
the dynatech is much cheaper.
less noise is what im after, just hate to buy the cheaper and be dissapointed.

I don't know jack about the Dynaflow. I run a Borla XR1 on the I pipe on a LM (Borlamouth). I can tell you the Borla has been on the car for about 82,000 miles, and it still sounds the same to me. If you have an M6, you can make it sound like you want . If you have a high stall/ A4 / 2.73s like I do, you'll either love it or hate it.
Works for me, but like all, it gets toney around 1800-2200 RPMs.

The XR1 does definitely get louder as RPM's go up, but it is not raspy at all. I've found that the overall exhaust setup has a lot to do with noise level (duh) , and it seems that a SS exh is even more prone to resonance. The sound Definitely changes with changes in temp w/a SS setup. e.g. , I can cruise on the interstate at 2500 rpms (2.73s, remember) and have the sound mellow after a time, especially picking small changes in RPM.

A thought, you might want to check out a full-size muffer from Dynomax. The SS series is advertised with a pretty good flow. I ran one for a while and it is pretty tame sounding, I could "feel" no loss in power. + is it shiny.

everyone that has one, has always dynoed threw a cutout, never threw the muffler.

Cool. Lots of folks seem to like the Hooker muffs. 4" seems a little overkill, ? Although I'd rather go 4" single then split out the back than true duals w/the LS1. I love these engines, but the changed firing order makes a sea change in sound. It aint your old 18436572.
