Default true duals on a ss lowered 1.5" dms springs

i have a 00 ss thats lowered 1.5" with dms springs. i have a 2.5" true dual setup run over the axle and jet hot headers. i need to know what i need to do to gain back tha 1.5" of clearance i had before because it didnt drag b4 i lowered it. also how do i run it over the axle because now its hitting it bad.
I Had the tailpipes cut off for now. i would like to see pics of cars with it ran out back and lowered to give me a idea what to do. my wheels are 17" that means a little dont it.

Wow...we're running true duals on one of our F-bodies and do not have that problem. Keep in mind, true duals will tend to hang lower than your typical cat back. Lowering your car (regardless of what springs you use) can pose a problem. I know many with TDs are running our springs.

Out of curiousity, why did you cut off the tailpipes if you're running over the axle? What mufflers are you running on your TD's?

got it it hit it a little and theres not even a inch of clearance where it hit the rear end. thinking about running it next to the one on the drivers side. simplest way to fix it i believe

Here's my car, lowered 1.5" all around...clearance is about as good as you are gonna get without going to oval tubing.

And a shot from the side to show how it sits:

If you look at the last pic in the post above, you can see where I painted it from where it scrapes. The driver's side after the header collector is the lowest point of the system, and it drags every once in a while (only happens in steep driveways).

I have gained some clearance going to these wheels from the ZR1s I had (these are 18" all around now). Because of how I chose my tires, the rears have a diameter of 26.1" instead of the ~25.2" it had previously, so it gave it a "raked" appearance without changing the look of the tire in the wheel well. So far, so good, but it is only a matter of time. If I had to do it over again, I might have looked in to oval tubing, but this exhaust was $$$ as it is.

Thanks man...lots of blood, sweat, and tears, and many lost nights of sleep went into it. As long as it stays in one piece, it is only getting better from here...

Yeah...those springs are gonna get painted too REAL soon...I hate that they're the only rusty thing under there. Shitty that you can't get pigtail springs that are powdercoated...

The exhaust was custom fabricated from my Kooks headers all the way to the rear by Speed Inc.

Ever thought about running them under the axle ? Thats how mine are. Then you don't have to deal with them rubbing on anything.

Meentss,
Your car is very nice. How much did that custom dual set up cost you?
