Overheating
Ok my car overheats when i am doing city driving with the A/C on. The gauge will go to 210 and keep climbing so i have to shut my car off before it gets to hot. I have pressure tested the system and it holds at 18psi, it just has a small leak at the radiator hose were it mates to the water pump (about 1 drop every 6 seconds). So i have to fix this small leak, with a new clamp or something. I also tested the cap and it does not hold any type of pressure whatsoever. The cap that came on my car is not stock, so i am going to get another cap. The other day I let my car idle for a while with the a/c on to check it. My temp went to 210, but fluid was boiling some, and i had just filled it earlier that day with a 50/50 dex-cool mix when it puked some fluid earlier.
My question is would these two things be causing my overheating issue by letting air into the system? If not what might be the cause?
By the way the car is a 98 so i know the temp gauge is telling me whats going on
Thanks

hey man if you got boiling you could have an airlocked coolant system. also take it somewhere or go to AZ and get a combustion leak tester. it should come with some blue fluid. let the car heat up and then suck air from the coolant reservoir where the pressure is and see if it turns green. if it does then you have a blown headgasket, if it doesnt your in the clear and you prolly have it airlocked.

Btw, if you can, take a pressure tester when you get your new cap you'll be suprised how some aftermarket ones won't hold
