Default Getting ready to buy

Hello. Well over the winter i am going to start modding. I am going to purchase the stuff to finish the full exhaust here real soon. I am going to get the pacesetter coated headers. I am not going to buy the Y-Pipe kit with sims and what not because i am going to swap out my borla for true duals with x-pipe. Now my question is...... What all do i need besides the headers themselves? I no i need o2 sims and extensions but which ones and how many and is there anything else?

Now for the exhaust... I want a true duals set up with X-pipe. I am not sure i want bullets. I want something loud and super mean sounding but also a good tone. So I was leaning towards sweet thunders. How does this sound? Any other suggestions? Also i want to order this true dual kit from someone and install itmyself. Which kit should i go with that i can get sweet thunders with? Or should i jsut go to the exhaust shop and get this fabbed up?

Thank you.

(2) o2 sims for the rear unless you have them programmed out and (2) extensions for the front o2 sensors. Pacesetter's come with some cheap make-your-own extensions but I would buy extensions. On my 01 SS I needed a 24" extension on the driver side and only a 12" on the pass side with the Pacesetter's. The other option is to buy (2) vette rear o2's which are longer and don't require the extenders if I am not mistaken.
I also bought a set of the GM steel exhaust gaskets, the ones that come with the headers are paper and very cheap ones at that.
I got my extensions from Speed Inc, they had the best price at the time.

Alright gracias.... should i jsut get 2 24" extensions to be safe or will 1 24" and 1 12" def be fine? I dont want to mess with corvette ones so ill jsut buy the 2 02 sims for the rear.

Where can i get this exhaust? Sweet thunders......good choice?

Well not knowing what I would need I bought two 24" to be safe but like I said I had ALOT of slack on the pass side on my car. In fact 12" would have still left me with enough slack but not so much and would have been better for that reason.
Of course your car shouldn't be any different especially with the same headers but better to be safe than sorry. You can always tie up the extra slack.

Alright thanks. I might just go with 2 24's to be safe.

Anyone have any help on the true duals?

no help on the TD - but why don't you want to run the Vette rear O2's?

the vette o2's are around $80 each so I would say no to answer your question -lol
I've had my headers in since April and just now got the P1133 & P1153 codes, it's only thrown them once. If they start coming back more regularly I might consider going to vette o2's. Some guys don't have any problems with those codes, some do. If you were going to buy new o2's anyway then you might as well just buy the vette ones and not worry about the extenders. Otherwise
I would wait and see if it becomes an issue, you can always get them later
just my .02

Alright well ill have to check into those....

Do i have to go to a shop to get True duals? Or can i buy duals in like a kit from TSP and install it right in my garage. I am confused on this. I was under the impression i could order duals and jsut bolt/weld them up in my garage but than i hear that a shop usually has to fab and weld them up for me?????
