Default Motor Mounts

I am installing my Thunder Racing motor mounts.
Are they suppose to fit without modifications to the metal?

They don't fit in the clamshell. Did anyone have to cut the poly? Or did I get the wrong ones??

these are the ones i got. only problems i ran into were drilling the ****** rivets out of the clamshells. once they were apart thought the mounts fit right in just like OEM.

Those are the ones I have. Getting the rivet outs were a piece of cake once I switched to Cobalt drill bits.

But mine won't just drop in. I guess I will have to grind down the poly.

Step on them.

They were tight on mine as well. Needed some convincing.

That is right, mine had the same interference. I used a 2x4 and stepped on it and pounded it in with the board. I was too lazy to go inside and get the soap, that would help.

You guys that are installing these mounts need to grease the mount good first and then put them in as good as you can by hand and then get the bolts that came with the mounts started and use the bolts to pull the insert into the clamshell.

You also need to scrape all of the old mount out of the clamshell. I use a propane torch and burn it out.
