I have heard the true dual header, dump out before the rear axel setup. To me, it sounded like a truck/nascar. WAY TO LOUD, and not cool sounding. Sounded like a drag car. If thats what your going after, this is the setup you want. This was on an LS1 by the way, dont know if you have the LS1 or LT1, but i would stay away from true duals, w/ headers, no cat. Even with a cat, i would never put that on my car.
I would start by putting headers on, if thats not loud enough, take any muffler off, and just add pipe in replacement. Still not loud enough, electric cut-out NASCAR time.

I added FLP LT's to my Magnaflow catback and no cats and was super loud and abnoxious...flutter/machine gun sound at certain rpms. Added the cats back and sounds great, deep and no rasp. One thing that made the combo so loud without cats is when I put the 3400 stall converter and have to bring the rpms up so much to move.
