Wink I Want Louder

In january of this year i invested in an SLP loudmouth. I was so pleased, there wasn't even a comparison between it, and the flowmaster i had on it previously. Well, I've gotten to the point where I'm just ust to the sound and it doesn't even seem loud anymore(my girlfriend hates it) "to me". Are there any suggestions on how to make it louder without making it sound crappy or like a duelled out truck, without eating a hole in my pocket. Also one of my cats are bad so I'm not sure if I should get rid of them and put LT headers or replace them both with high flow cats. The only reason I'm scared to put headers on it now is because I'm in college and I don't have the money for a professional tune. Also any exhaust setups you've had that might be what I'm looking for, could be helpful. Does anyone know much about Dumps, or who makes them.

If you install headers and a cam, you will be nascar loud. Keeping the cats will make rasp less annoying, but it still will be loud as hell.

I found some pacesetter LTs for $300 and bullets for $70 a piece. How hard would it be to install, is it something you would recommend a first timer doing, would I have to fabricate my own brackets from the undercarriage to the pipes.

LT headers and say good bye to the cats if you dont go with true duals. But if you get LT headers, get rid of the loudmouth....it'll sound like garbage with headers.

A friend back at home just bought a 98 trans am, he's offering me two for the Loudmouth, thats what I paid for it last christmas. So I'll probably sell him the LM when I get the headers, and put bullets at the end. What will the performance be like if I do away with the cats and don't have it tuned.(eventually i will, when I get the money to get it dyno tuned)

$70m a piece? i got my bullets $70 for BOTH. yeah the passenger side is easy you can litteraly just slide the bullet onto the header but the driver side needs a little curve to it right after the header, hence the few inches of pipe. if you have a welder you can cut and do the passenger side yourself. if not take it to a muffler shop. I wentr ahead and added a few inches to the passenger just so it would be the same length as ther driver side.i welded up my own, but i would pay more than 20-30 to have the driverside done.
I didn't use any hangers on the ends of the bullets they are not heavy at all. i just slide them on the headers and put a clamp on it so they don't come out.

the car will be sluggish at first, at least thats what I noticed when I first got LT and no cats. The most you'd have to buy is a Mass Air Flow Translator(MAFT), to rich or lean out the A/F mixture. Maybe the car run much better.
