Default Header bolts loosen?

My frickin header bolts won't stay tight..... my driver side bolts shook loose and I retightened both sides a week after original install, and now three weeks later my passenger side has shook loose (loose enough so I can turn forward-most bolt with fingers) ...... now I know the obvious answer would be I didn't torque them down tight enough, but having heard the 18 lb max torque I was hesitant to crank down too hard. Having said that and not wanting to endure this torturous task every 3 weeks, I have a set of arp stage 8 bolts with lock washers on the way...... Has anyone had this problem, or did I just baby the bolts too much?

i tightened my bolts to 11, heat cycled it, then tightened them to 17. no problems here.

I put antiseize on the bolts and got them pretty snug with a 1/4 drive ratchet, had ZERO problems with 3 diff installs.

Hi Folks
I would add LOCK WASHERS or some locking device which I seen but not used. The only way the bolts could be coming loose if the headers are not flat against the heads and they are changing under heat. I would use a star washer (lock washer) or a lock washer. I believe in the anti-seize compound.
