haha, gmmg flowing aswell as twice the exhaust, thats funny.

i seem to remember gmmg exhausts being chosen for the sound, more so than performance. this is just by the bandwagoning that follows it around. sound of exhausts are a relative subject however. you might think your LT/orY/loudmouth sounds the best, while i think it sounds like ****, the next guy thinks it sounds good, etc... see where im going with this? The flow, or gains of them werent much more than a stock setup, considering the piping is dempled causing a restriction. keep in mind, im remembering here, so dont bash me, correct me if needed.

AGREED!! Besides the power gained, that's the only reason I would ever consider putting up with the noise/rasp/knocking/fumes in traffic of a dumped before the axle true dual. I really can't stand bling. I like the sound of my TOTL SLP, but if I were to do it over again, I would have Mufflex make me up a 304 stainless system & y pipe, XR1s or Magnaflow, with one or two dumped turndowns after the muffler, tucked up as far as possible without knocking the unibody/panhard brace. This is a Z28, the 'birds look better with the bumper cutouts filled with exhaust.

true duals do not knock, have any rasp, nore fumes, if the car is tuned right. at least i never smell any. noise is a bitch though. hence the reason im selling mine. Its not that bad honestly, but i swore up and down when i bought the car i'd have a quiet exhaust system on it, and still have yet to do it.
i've never had anyone tell me it sounds like **** (asking for honest opinions) but get tons of "sounds badass" etc...

GMMG hands down it took a while to give in and spend the $$$ but it is by far the best sounding exhaust on the market IMHO. Well worth it plus if you can get in on a GP ou can save some $$$$ the holiday season is right around the corner and GMMG will have a GP I got in on mine last year.

I think the GMMg flows just as wekk as most true dual systems. Ask Ron.

I love my dual sound ....But w/o cats how crappy will the GMMG sound???

PS not trying to jack your thread. I put my vote in for the GMMG because I like how they sound. And I do like them better than the mufflex

agreed. i had tsp dual 3" with moroso spiral flows and under the axle tail pipes. my buddy had the GMMG. THEY DID NOT SOUND THE SAME AT ALL. the dual were much deeper. the GMMG did sound good BUT it had cats on. i heard the GMMG without cats = , i heard a mufflex without cats = . just my opinion though. thats why i got the mufflex.

I'd like to see the dyno results for a TD vs the GMMG..I have been to the GMMG shop many times and heard all the special built Camaros that they have produced..the cars sound bad *** and are emmissions legal (they have cats on)all of the cars that they produce are built to be legal street cars....their cat back is the best sounding of any on the market IMHO...there was a comparison on this forum a year or so ago on cat back flow numbers..the hooker was almost as good as true duals a long witha a few others...contrary to popular opinion the good cat backs do not give up much HP to TDs..and when you compare the cost of TDs especially over the axle TDs you can see why many go the cat back and a Y pipe route...I am willing to sacrifice a few HP to have the exhaust note the I like...to me true duals that are dumped make way too much noise and the fumes are too much to deal with...I run a borla cat back with no cats and the fumes are bad enough with that system..if I were to run a TD system it would definately go out the back...with all this said I am still probably going to get a custom built
TD and see if I can get it right...going to go with sweet thunder mufflers..two in front of the axle and two smaller ones behind the axle..I like the rest of you can't stop messing with things..the perfect exhaust in an F body seems to be very elusive..

I just ordered the GMMG, hope to get it early next month. I also ordered some Hooker LTs and Y-pipe, but it didnt say if the Y is catted or not. After reading what was said about the GMMG and no cats... I hope the Y is catted.

Unless it's specified that it's a catted y, it's gonna be the ORY.

IMHO, i think both sound really good, but I think gmmg is the best sounding catback i've heard. I don't think you can go wrong with either. As far as sounding like straightpipe, you must be def? It has no rasp at all. ultimately, this sound clip is my favorite way to dsecribe the deep, mean tone. http://ls1sounds.com/GMMG/GMMG_before-after.mpeg
it's before/after so it starts around the middle. If you don't like the sound, maybe this can convince you to give it atleast some credit?
