If you are referring to the Jet Hot 2000 which comes in black vs there ceramic chrome, there is a difference. The blak 2000 is a heavy duty version that hold up to 2400 degs if i am correct. Its like tar. Very god in turbo applications. And its not the coating that rusts its the material that does. Coating stainless steel wont rust. Coating mild steel will rust in time.

I'm sure he is talking about just the flat black paint vs the ceramic coating. The ceramic will hold in heat better and it will resist rust much better. The more heat you can hold in the better the power.
