A/C Removal question...

A/C Removal question... I know this has been beat to death and I've searched every thread, but here goes. I'm going to pull my A/C but I have a question. On the line that connects to the top of the condenser, towards the back of the line is a wire that plugs directly into the line. What is it and what do I do with it once the line is out?

I plan on removing AC this winter, and getting rid of the AIR and EGR stuff and I am in Chicago with Emissions. Luckly all they do here is check for engine codes, so when I do this I'll have AIR and EGR disabled in the ECU

Well, it's done... and it looks awesome without all that crap in the engine bay. Thanks for all the replies. Too bad I'm in Socal so I still need the AIR and EGR stuff.
