Question O2 Sensor removal?

What is the best way to remove the O2 sensors to install on LT's or is it just smarter to buy new ones?

You should be able to remove them with a wrench, can't recall the size off the top of my head though....

As for getting new ones, I wouldn't worry about replacing the rears as they have no bearing on a/f mixture, but as for the fronts, if you have some decent miles on them then it might not be a bad idea to put in new ones since you're putting in the headers anyway.

Just find an adjustable wrench and turn.

They will be on there pretty tight, so it may take a little time to get it loose.

Well you remove all four sensors and only use two of them for the fronts. So you will have two sensors left over. If they fronts give you any problems then you can switch them with the rears that were left over. Since they are all intechangable.

If that fails then buy some vette ones.

I would wait and see how they do first...if they are setting off codes or whatever then go ahead and get some new bosch's.

The Corvette o2 sensors, Bosch PN#:13111, cost about $67.00 each at my local Autozone.

SmokeShow99SS, with 70K miles it would be a good idea to go ahead and replace your front o2 sensors with the sensors mentioned above. You won't need o2 extensions because the Corvette o2 sensors come with longer wires. To remove your old o2 sensors you'll need a 7/8" wrench.

Default O2 wrench

Actually, for a better fit, the sensor takes a 23mm wrench. they shouldn't be bad, lust did my LT's last weekend, and the sensors weren't that tight. good luck.

So everyone agrees to get the after-cat O2's for a Vette? Does it matter the year or will this one work?
