Default What do you concider "LOUD"

I am starting to think my Borla is Quiet. Of course, once I add a cam that could all change. I'll have to switch headers next year. Goin form SLP's to QTP's w/ the dual cutout y-pipe and a GMMG.

Everyone has a different Idea of LOUD. Some think the borla is loud. It's actually quite Quiet at idle. But it gets loud over 3grand when you're on it. I'd like a louder idle...

I had B&B Triflow on my car, i switched to flowmaster, because the b&b wasn't very loud. i have the same sounds as you, its quiet at idle but after 2 grand it gets loud, especially around 3 grand. The flowmaster muffler sounds alot better than the B&B did. IMO

When you pull up to a drive through / fast food and after three "Huh?, I'm Sorry, or can you repeat that?" they simply tell you "Can you pull you car forward please?"

Thats what I used to get in my old 383 IROC with tru duals

I turn my car off when I go to the bank because I can never hear them, plus they take too long.

Agree with the car alarm theory - even driving down a sidestreet I'd set most every car off. Back then I had FLP's with bullet mufflers at the tailpipe AS tailpipes.

We are running a TR224 through LT/ORY to a cutout and that is loud, but the winner IMHO:

TSP 233/239 through LT/ORY, into straight pipes is deafening! Shoot our stock alarm system on our Camaro was beeping...

We have an MTI X1 to go in soon though, so we will see what effect that has on the volume...

My last car could set off alarms from across the street. 3" true duals with cats and it was still that stinking loud. That's what 11.5:1 compression buys you...

Do you mean loud with no plate? I don' t think it' s loud open. With my QTPs and cats', with the QTEC open, it' s loud. QTEC closed, it ain' t too bad. I love how it sounds, going down the track, with the shift extension keeping the revs' above 5200 RPMs. I can' t wait for a H/C package and a 427. Hee Hee Hee
