Question Flowtech Headers....

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything good or bad about flowtech headers?? I found some on tbyrne.com for $349.00 ceramic coated. That's pretty reasonable compared to prices upward of $1,300. Lemme know.

i have flowtech and i love the performance and the fact that they droped my under hood temp 15-20* however the fit is a little tight and they do tend to bang against the k-meber but for the price if you dont mind a little noise they are a good choice.

i have flowtechs... the performance is good, they look great. the passenger's side could have been installed by a 4 year old. the drivers' side was a diff. story. i had to cut off the casting block at the top, and had to remove my oil filter to get it in with the front end jacked WAY up. but it wasn't too bad after that. they've been on the car for two seasons and there is a noticeable amount of rust at the collectors. i think you should go with pacesetters over the flowtechs. just my .02

flowtech sucks hands down. if you are in that price range get the pacesetter, or hooker. better quality and around the same price. flowtechs flanges are easiely warped because they are not that strong, so if you overtighten them you will have an exhaust leak. putting flowtech on our cars is like putting flowmaster on, you just don't do it unless its free, and even then most people would sell it.

I have painted flowtechs. They are performing and holding up great. However the install sucked. If you wanted a coated header for cheap get the pacesetter for around 379$ Install is way easier.

I've heard many many bad reviews of flowtech. For about the same price you can get some coated pacesetters.

With Flowtech, we went 10.65 N/A and 9.94 with a small 135 shot ... which is about 500rwhp. Yeah, they suck. Although we will be upping to 1-7/8 very soon.

Notice people slamming the Flowtech do not have them, hmm.

I'm not bashing the flowtech headers, I've never tried them personally so I couldn't say anything about them. It's just when I was researching on which headers to buy I found many people who were unhappy w/ their flowtechs.

Gearhead - Just do a search in the external engine section for flowtech. That should help you w/ your decision, and let us know what you choose.

The performance of the flowtech's vs. pacesetters is about the same. What sucks about the flowtechs, is there whimpy little flange that warps. The flowtechs and pacesetters are similar in price, but the pacesetters are way better. They fit well, and are made well.

agree with redneck

There is no reason unless you just absolitely cant scrape up another 30 bucks to get the Flowtechs over the Pacesetters.

Pacesetter = 3/8 flange and fit and install awesome.

Flowtechs = 1/4" flange and install and fit horrible.
