Spark Plug Wires
the taylor thundervolts are 10.5 i think, so if the ls6 wires are only 7 mm and the thundervolts are way bigger would there be any noticeable increase with the thundervolts? will the car still perform as good with the ls6 7 mm wires as it would with thundervolt or any other wires bigger than 7 mm?

I just replaced the plugs and wires (MSD 8.5) with header install and the wires fit fine and do not hit the headers if you bend the boot with slight pressure once seated on the plug. The red looks good too.

Not sure why you would go though all that trouble putting those bulky heat shields when elitesparkplugs.com ignition wires incorporates the fire heat sleeves into wires already so much neater in my opinion and they are guarantee them for life (no other company gives that kind of guarantee …. Can’t beat that deal) Check out all the colors offered

Headers produce more heat then your typical exhaust manifold plus Elitesparkplugs.com prices for their wires are just as much as your typical wires replacement
Think about it, the wires are so freakin short, AND each spark plug has its own High powered coil, u will not notice any differnce in wires, the wire is only like 6 inches long, stock or GMPP will be just fine!

I think they are the same maybe a 5 dollars more .... plus they are 9mm wires and a life time warrantee can’t beat that for the price.

My taylors came apart on almost every plug when I pulled them today. I will never buy Taylor again!

Cheap Chinese made wires.They will work for a while but the voltage from the LS1 coils will burn them up with in 30k.

I don' t like the MSDs for anything except appearance. Yeah, they ohm a lot less, but, like it was said earlier, the wires are so short, and the coils so powerful, it would almost be a waste otherwise. Unless you were running a power adder or something like that. My MSDs started getting really loose on the plug end, after the first time I pulled them off. Yes, I pulled on the boot. They weren' t evens stuck to the plug porcelan ( can' t spell. ) The next time I try to install them, none of them click, and I couldn' t tell if they were on or not. Two sets. New sets. SAME thing. I had the GMPP wires off and on probably close to a dozen times, and it wasn' t until I found a crack, from heat, that I replaced them.

I replaced mine with MSD 8.5 only because one of my stockers were cracked open. The MSD boots are a little long and the #3 boot does come kinda close to the Pacesetter header tube. The MSD wires look and feel like good quality, alot better than any OE design. The boots and wires are real tight and firm fitting. I dont think they will come apart very easy.
