I think that this whole GMMG vs LM post is kinda retarded becausr ur putting a comparrison on 2 exhausts that are no where near close in price:
[B]GMMG:$800 shipped
LM:$375 shipped
IMO listen to www.ls1sounds.com for a long time so you can get an idea of what you want your exhaust to sound like, then ask around because the LS1TEch Tech enthusiasts are always more than happy to help you with any question you may have.
I just picked up a LM exhaust, I wanted because it sis obnoxiously loud and very throaty sounidng. I would have went with GMMG but with its rediculously high price tag I decided to go with LM. I would rather spend that extra $400 i saved on a new cam.

i love my loudmouth but cruising the highway gets kinda annoying with the tops in and windows up and i wanted the GMMG really bad ,but the price dropped it!
Not to mention for what you pay for a GMMG i got my LM, PaceSetters and ORY pipe for like $30 less

As much as I love my LM, its kinda not in the same league as GMMG. Personally, I would not pay the extra money for the GMMG because I love my exhaust already.

GMMG, you just get sick of the popping after awhile with the loudmouth and the rasp

Voted for the GMMG. I just installed it a couple days ago, and on stock manifolds with cats it sounds very mellow. I don't hear rasp in it at all. Can't say the same for friends of mine who have or used to have loudmouths. Worth every penny in my book, and it looks great. Only $720 shipped with standard tips for what it's worth.

I can't wait to hear what my headers do for my exhaust note with the GMMG.

the GMMG hands down sounds ******* sic as hell but it is ridiculous how much it costs....i have a loudmouth and i love it, i think for the money the loudmouth is the best sounding catback you can get for the LS1.

I agree. I have wanted a GMMG for 2 years but was not willing to spend the moeny for it. 2 months ago I hit the lottery and found a GMMG on a wrecked f-body in a junk yard and picked it up dirt cheap. Best 75 bucks I ever spent

I like the LM but i've been in cars with the LM and on the highway the drone gave me a headache. I don't drive my car everyday but the drone was enough to keep me away.

For those who can't justify the GMMG... makes me sort of wonder.

Personally, after having experienced a 69 DZ302 Z28 with the chambered exhaust, I have never been impressed with any other exhaust note (save for the Hemi, but thats a given for anyone I think) ... things sound too raspy, or unbearably loud to the point where I'd hate driving my car if I had to listen to it all day...

the chambered exhaust on the LS1 F-Bodies and even LT1's, always appealed to me, not because of cost, and I'd never care to tell anyone what I had spent on an exhaust anyway if they didn't know what it was... but because of the sound, its something you can't get tired of and something that always gets better when you go from stock, to a full exhaust, to heads, cam, etc ... you just can't beat what the chambered exhaust offers in the long run...

Think of it this way... those who buy the loudmouth, and then modify their car afterwards, more than likely regret the LM buy a new exhaust later anyway, be it true duals, or whatever ...

of course it all does depend on who you are and what you like...
but for the cost of the gmmg vs. others in the price range, you can't top it.
Borla is sexy and all, but hey.. it's got nothing on the gmmg

I love my SLP LM 1, it sounds great with stock manifolds/cats. Would it sound better if I replaced the straight through resonator with a chambered one? Just a question I have been wondering about.
