Default CRAP CRAP CRAP! Broke a bolt installing LS6 intake.

Alright, so I swapped intake manifolds tonight. Everything went fine until I went to start it and it was whistling and about dying from not sealing good. So I went back around and torqued them down a little more, got to the 2nd one back on teh passenger side and...SNAP. Broke off flush with the head. I pulled it back apart and am going to drill it out in the morning, but does anyone know the part number for those stupid bolts? Thanks.

cant say i know the part number, but if you where having any vac issues did you modify the coolant pipes on the valley cover or did you get the block of plugs and pipes for the ls6 manifold? Make sure that you have good gaskets on the intake ports. I had the same problem with my FAST. just didnt break a bolt off....that sucks man. Good luck to ya!

I got the new coolant plugs and pipes. All the vacuum lines were hooked up and I couldn't find anything pinched. Hopefully a dealership around here has those bolts in stock, cause if not I am screwed.

Nah, you should be good on the bolts at a dealership or Napa. The only hard part will be getting that broken one out.

Well I got the broken bolt out. No dealership, parts store, or salvage yard within an hour of me had the bolts. I found some at a dealership 3 hours away that are getting overnighted. Everything is ready for that last bolt and I am ready to go. Part number for future reference is 12552344. I sure hope no one else does this. It was a stupid move on my part.

I drilled a small hole towards the outside of the bolt and took a long skinny phillips screwdriver and used that to turn the screw. I just slowly pushed it around until there was enough out to grab it with needle nose pliers. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

with all the ls6 intakes i've seen done/have done, i've honestly never had a problem with them not seating properly. Maybe throw some black rtv around them as added insurance this time around. Good luck!

It's on and running great. I have no clue what the problem was. I put it all back together when I got the new bolt and everything is well.
