The I pipe was 2 3/4 on my Z28. I might suggest going the way I did. Buy a replacement Hooker muffler. It will probabaly be a lot easier.

Dont see why it would not work...may not flow that good cause of the size of the stock pipes; compared to 3".

how about just open manifolds and cats? Without any y pipe or muffler, this wont be a permanent solution, but temporary to run untill I get a chance to buy LT's and a true dual setup! Let me know guys!

just get yourself a cutout on your I-pipe untill you can afford the exhaust you really want. The cutout wont disapoint you.

I guess it'd be fine to do it like that. The only reversed glasspacks I've heard were on trucks and they were pretty damn loud, like redneck loud popping and stuff. But with the cats still there it may not be as bad. I like how mine sounds with the cutout and gutted cats. It's not quiet by any means.
