SLP / ORY + cut outs or true duals?
I have SLP long tubes and an ORY - will there be any benefits to running a true dual exhaust setup over just placing cut outs on each side of the ORY pipe?

I had SLP LT's as my first LT, along with the catted Y, then with TD's. One cutout on the I-pipe is all you need for performance. With low hanging SLP LT collectors, and TD's you'll be dragging/ bottoming out everywhere.

Cutout in the I tucks up real well in the niche under the seat. No clearance issues. I ran (with SLP LT's) the single cutout in the I, TD's, (with QTP HVMC LT's which tuck up real nice) dual cutout ORY. The most convenient of all was the single cutout in the I for daily driving. The TD's were worth maybe 1-2 mph in the 1/4 mile if I recall. My best trap with the single cutout was 116mph. I switched to duals and trapped 118mph (both on the same cam-only setup at the time).

I think this SLP LT set-up was a first-time learner for me, but it breathes well enough to wait until after heads/cam/intake swap before upgrading headers to something better & true duals. Or of course I could just knock 'em off on a speed bump, and upgrade right away
If I'm really lucky, I'll blow the LS1 up downshifting with the new 4.10's I installed today, and I'll have to swap in an LS7 or Warhawk LS7X...
