Default Crank Pully Questions.

I am doing my cam swap right now and when i was removing the dampner I did some damage to it I now need to buy a new one. What experiences have you guys had with aftermarket dampners?
I was looking at the SLP one mainly because of the $$$

I put the puller on the wrong spot and broke it good. I have a used stocker sittin here just thought while I was at it I might as well replace it with a better one. How is the stock damper compared to aftermarket ones?

I have had bad luck with the asp pulley, after putting on and removing several times It never was tight enough against the crank and ended up spinning on it, ended up tossing it in the trash . The ATI super dampner is a damn good pulley but less Underdrive.

I wonder if it has anything to do with your 700 horses running through it!
ATI's are pricey though, but you know the saying already "you get what you pay for."

I think the key is that if you are gonna put it on and take it off alot get the best kind probably an ATI, if its a one shot deal and your done any kind is probably ok. I never had problems until I had removed my ASP for the 3rd time.

Just received my quote from patriot, 1,395 shipped with head gaskets and new bolts. KILLER PRICES. 62CC chambers, he said with the profile cam I have it should have 10:7.1 comp. RIght where I wanted to be. I am going to pick up a set of bare LS6 heads though. $300 good deal so I took em.
The thing that hurts is that I paid 250 for a srping kit from my tunner to use on my stock heads, bought all of the in car install tools. Joint price was like $500. Now for just 2/3 more I could have done a killer set of heads.

You'll end up using the spring kit in 25,000 miles when you change them. Preventative maintenance pays dividends.

Ok I did it, Got the patriots
My shop ordered them today. I tell ya what, they rock over there both at patriot and my shop. My shop is selling my stock heads with the spring kit I put on them for $500. They know a guy who is looking to do a budget cam swap who has the cam and wants centerbolt heads with upgraded springs.
Seriously though, Patriots prices ROCK. Im pulling the heads in the morning. Putting the cam in and wrappin it up till my heads come in.
Just to let you guys know why im so excited. Im 19, Ive worked my *** off for this car. Im finally seeing where I wanted to go with a car for the first time out of 3 vehicles. I will post up the dyno numbers when I get it running.
