Default Ported TB making gas pedal stick?

for those of you who got your TB ported by someone on this board like i did, or did it yourself, does your gas pedal stick sometimes/ become very picky?? i mean stick as in like it doesnt wanna get pushed in, so you have to put more force and then when it finally moves, the car bucks and **** cuz you are like hammering it. it closes all the time when i left off just fine.

i hear it is a burr or sumn when it was being ported that was overlooked or is there some bind in the spring or sumn?

if this has happened to you, what was your solution?

thank you.

Have to take the throttle body off and hold it up to the light and you should be able to see where the problem is around the blade. Then very lightly! sand around where its touching.

He hit the nail on the head. I am very careful when I do my throttle bodies for this very reason. I make sure that there is no sticking before I ship them back out. Takes a little time and patience, but noone wants to pay for a halfass job....I wouldn't.

Oh, forgot...you won't need a new gasket. I have taken mine off and on numerous times. It stays on the intake so your good to go.

Had this problem, but a good cleaning took care of it. I know exactly what you are talking about though...

Yeah, if it isn't the blade needing sanding from a port job, then it is just gummy and a cleaning will fix it. My truck was bad about that til I cleaned it and it has been perfect ever since.

Sometimes the idle adjustment is too tight and all that is needed is a 1/8-1/4 turn to pull the blade away from the housing. When you sand, just use some 1500 grit and that will take care of it without worrying about taking too much out.

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

gave it a good cleaning with some Berryman's B12 Chemtool and some air from the air compressor. Also gave a lil rub down with some sand paper and now my problem is gone!

Thanks everyone for the help

I had the same problem and it turns out I had the spring turned over one more than it is supposed to be so I let it out and fixed the problem. similar symptoms...just thought I would share.

Another thing is the blade not positioned correctly. If you have done the half shaft mod you no longer have the alignment that you get from the screws going through the front and rear holes. If the half shaft mod is done and its sticking then loosen the screws holding the blade in and start tweaking the blade while operating the throttle body by hand till its not sticking anymore. The blade can move around a little bit with both screws in since the holes in the blade are larger than the screws.
