help! 01 midlengths on a 98 car??

i recently got offered a set of mac midlength headers with an ory for a great price... but they are coming off of a 2001 trans am... and i have a 1998 trans am... will these work with my car?? the only thing i know that i would have to do is delete my egr, the headers have air hookups, so i could keep that...

any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Since you have !EGR, shouldn't be a problem. If for whatever reason the AIR hookups don't mate locationwise (I wouldn't see why), you can !AIR also and use block off plates on the headers.

Anyone who has actually done the swap, please chime in, as I'm just deducing.

I went the other way and put 1998-99 MACs on my 2000 Z28. I had to buy AIR extensions, but you should be fine. The MACs are an underrated header that works well for street applications. If you want to get the most out of them, grind down the welds and do the "collector mod".

not to be a burden, but can you explain the "collector mod"... also, im looking into AIR block off plates... cuz they come with AIR but no EGR obviously (01 model), but i wont be needing an AIR system, am i able to buy the blockoff plates or can i make them?

ya i could always keep the AIR, but i keep reading about the AIR ticking problem, and im getting the ORY with these headers, so AIR will be useless... im thinking im just going to fab. up a nice AIR block off plate, and seal it really good.
