Help me decide what to do with the PCV system. Let me know the results of what you've done and what you think is best.

I tried everything to get rid of oil consumption. (catch can, 01-02 style valley/pcv , the new truck pcv valve) I still find oil behind my tb and have to add a quart every 1500 miles. My suggestion would be to learn to live with it. I have.

Only way to get NO oil in your intake is to ditch the PCV and run breathers. thats what i do.

I've got the truck pcv valve and a catchcan and it still uses oil. I may switch to breathers before too long.

If a 2001 is similar to a 99 PVC set up, then a larger diameter drain hole inside the passenger side valve cover in conjunction with a vertically mounted PCV valve & a just in case fuel filter, will eliminate oil consumption. Let me know if this is of interest & I will explain further. AM not sure how a 2001 PCV system i routed. If it's the same, this will work.

Some people will have oil and some don't. Like you said, just deal with it, it isn't hurting anything.

Thunder racing has a LS6 PCV Conversion Kit to comeback oil consumption for LS1 cars.

Mine screws right into the stock oil "chimney." You can find them at Year One(sponsor) ===>

$50something dollars.

Are you saying that the back pressure created by the PCV circuit was enough to blow the seals on the second motor you had or that the overflowing catch can caused the back pressure & subsequent seal failure? Where did you mount the driver's side head cover breather?

What i'm sayin is that the second motor had ALOT more blowby than the first (it also ran faster ) and the stock PCV system with a catch can did not flow enuff and so it came out of the seals.
As for the driverside head you can use the same filler cap breathwer ($50 a piece ) if you have 98 heads. for 99 and up heads you can just use a passenger valve cover on the driverside.
i thought it was retarded to spend $100 on two breathers so i bought clamp on breathers fron jegs for $12 a peice and welded a 1 3/8" tube on each valve cover.

Think about the internals of the engine. The holes where the pushrods go through to touch the cam is a common area. Any pressure on the other side (drivers) migrates to the lower pressure side where it naturally goes to the breather.
Simple.

This is true, however when gasses are being pushed out, air must also be sucked in.

So 1 single breather on the passenger side is all that is needed?

Yep, look at any NASCAR or 1st gen racing small-block. No worries.
