low gain's after headers
I have done a lot of research on this site and it seem's as though a lot of guy's with 2001 and 2002 ls-1's don't see much of an improvement with their headers. The 2000 and earlier seem to alway's pick up at the very least 25 hp to the wheel's, sometime's more.
Am I off base here?
I want to get some LT's, but I'll spend my money on other mod's before I put down 500 plus dollar's to get a .1 off of my 1/4 time.
I hope I'm wrong here. At any rate I am open to any input on this subject.
You guy's with 2001 and 2002 car's, what have you experienced?

Lithium's right. You'll be happy once you get them, and even happier down the road

Not sure, what you have been looking at, but the majority of the time the 2001+ cars make more hp with just bolt ons compared to the 98-00 cars. Depending on the headers, you should see about 20-30 rwhp.

I was happy with my gains. I bought Pacesetter headers w/ the off road y-pipe and I gained 30-40 rwhp. It helped that I had the car tuned afterwards. I've heard that cars tend to run rich after moving the O2 sensors down. You definetly won't be disappointed, especially once you hear how the car sounds with headers.

My Buddy has a 02 WS6, Whisper lid, Pacesetter LTs, ORY and Loudmouth. Also some springs, and panhard with some 315's out back. Thats it. He dynoed 377/389 last weekend. You make the call. !!!!

with my 01, Got KOOKS HEADERS 1 3/4 and KOOKS catless y-pipe gained an inch of ground clearance and still got stock muffler, with the hypertech tune I dynoed 365HP and 385TQ with a MAF; I'm in speed density now...finishing it this weekend and my AFR will be set
stock was 342HP and 352TQ
Headers 356HP and 375TQ (doing the math i got 14HP and 23TQ off of headers and untuned)
current is 365HP and 385TQ SD tune and AFR is off as of right now...will be fixed this weekend

Cost wise that's a lot of money spent for what is gained.
But, I think you guy's have sold me. Pacesetter header's seem like a pretty good deal. Think I'm gonna give them a shot.
Thank's guy's.

I think this thread has a bunch of hot air in it. I just put on some QTP's last weekend and got it tuned and I gained 25hp on a mustang dyno which puts me at 323 rwhp. I never heard of a stock ws6 putting down 342 hp or an fbody which puts down 377 with lt's?? But thats another thread, expect anywhere from 20-30 rwhp, and a much better exhaust note. Good luck!

The amount of hot air in this thread is enough to slow the whole boards down .5 in the 1/4.
342/352 stock?
377/389 with exhaust?
shorty headers on 01-02's?
This thread needs to be deleted.
