Default stainless y pipe???

Who makes them where can i get one to fit up to my QTPs? I don't understand why i spend a dump load of money on stainless headers, and a stainless cat back only to have my y pipe rust. To me that just doesn't make sense. Anyone else agree? Only problem is the flowmaster merge is not available in stainless. I contacted mufflex performance exhaust, but why doesn't a sponsor have one already? Maybe i'm just not looking in the right place. Someone please help me out!

If you want a stainless Y pipe with a merge that is anywhere close to being as good as the Flowmaster you will need a Dr. Gas Y merge or the Burns Stainless in stainless and have the Y pipe custom made using that merge.

I think Stainless Works may also have a Y merge.

Stainless Works makes y-pipes for their headers. you might want to check with them but i am pretty sure you could make one of their y-pipes fit to your qtp headers. and they are a site sponsor.

I thought stainless works might have something thanks

Edit: went to their site.....looks like they only have LT1 stuff available for hooker headers, it looks like the others just match the stock y pipe's location. http://www.stainlessworks.net/cart/i...th=244_245_246

The merge on the SLP pipe is not optimal. I used to have it.

Stay away from stainless works. I had nothing but problems and the fit was not quality, nor was the customer service!!

The merge of the two pipes had the wall of one pipe crossing over into the flow of the other.

They are also over priced.

I want one too! ynkssws6, I feel ya bro. Anyone want to start a business? Basically, build a stainless collector similar to flowmasters. Make sure they don't have a patent on it first though. I calculated the material cost of building a 3" polished 304 stainless steel y pipe to be $170. This is with out the savings of buying pieces to the exact length needed. One could easily sell this baby for $400+. Why doesn't anybody want to make some money? By the way the $170 is the cost for any Joe Shmo to buy it and polished was the only finish available. Consider the savings of buying in bulk non-polished tubing.

Why is that? I noticed my 2 year old Kooks are rusting, too. The car is never winter driven.
