Stage 8 Locking Header Bolts

But other than my stupidity, I like them.
The clips are a major pain in the *** to get off as well, so be prepared to bend a few as you pry them off. I am just using the bolts as well now...

You didn't mention that cross threading tid bit in your paper towel thread lol! Talk about a bad luck project. I hope it runs this time. As far as the stage 8's, that's what I was afraid of. So they do a good job of locking, but suck to get off? How much of a pain to get off are we talking about? If I buy them, I want to use the clips also. If not I'd like to maybe use the Broselins(sp). I just don't want to deal with header leaks and re-tightening. Anyone else use locking header bolts????
Mine only got crossthreaded cause the tap was bad on it, once I pulled the bolt out I retapped it and it went in fine.
It was a pain in the *** for me to get off cause of those c clips...I bend up most of them when taking them off cause I using a flathead to pry them off...it was the only way in my opinion.
I would stick with the stockers if I had to do it again...just be careful not to break any of them off in the head.

can you pry them off without too much problem? I'm not worried about screwing them up. Worst case scenario, I'll just buy more. I wonder why the Broselin ones aren't more popular....
The clips are easy to come by, I believe most places will have them. They are 40 bucks though for the bolts...I am happy with mine.
If you dont want to have to deal with tightening the bolts often the get the stage 8's. Cause once they are on, they are not going to get loose.
Where did you buy them at? I thought they were more like $100. How hard are they to take off? Hopefully easier than the stage 8's!
bolt short (very handy to discover, at the time). So we
reused the stockers.
Drilling for safety wire is another way to go, costs nothing
but time and maybe a little ugly (but the kind of ugly that
tells people you know what you're doing).
