My buddy is doing an 86 monte with the victor jr carb setup on a 6.0. Going to have a cam custom ground for it. Will have a high stall and ported stock LS1 or LQ9 heads.

MSD is definately the best way to go.... its a very trick piece and doesnt require a mechanical fuel pump..... it would clean up some wires but thats about it... after the final price tag and accersories of each item they both end up costing about the same....

stay with the MSD.... i started pulling my dash last night..

Just an update. You can get the Victor Jr separately from the ignition box. The Performer appears to be only availablr in a packe with intake and MSD box to rum the coils. `I want the lower RPM range of the performer. <sigh> I'm putting a 4.8 into an older 5,000 lb truck. MV

Edelbrock Sells the Vicotr Jr separately, but not the Performer. I need a Performer as this is a small displacement (4.8) engine in an old 1946 Truck. I refuse to buy the darn package just to get the intake manifold. If anyone has the Performer and wants to upgrade to more flow, I'd consider buying you a new Vistor Jr.

I have the Edelbrock setup on my car and I'm going back to injection. It's a lot smoother than a carb setup. You can't beat injection for cold engine startup.
