Default Are pacesetters equal length ?

I was looking at getting Jet Hot headers for a while now. I is looking like I will have to do this on a restricted budget now. Are the pacesetters tuned headers? If they are not, will it really make a that much difference with a DD. Are we only talking about a few hp difference? Thanks.

I have them and Im pretty sure they are not. If they were then the rear tubes would have to make an extra bend or something since they are closer to the collector and they dont.

I honestly dont think it will make much difference at all and Im sure you will not be able to feel a difference.

They aren't equal length, but will make as much hp as the jet hot's/hookers, and close to what the high-end longtubes make. IMO, the pacesetters are a better made header than the jet hot/hookers. They're a great header, go for it.

I thought they were equal lengths. But when we installed them one was shorter than the other, because one side of the y-pipe is longer than the other when we put it together. Me and a friend actually installed them today. The only problem was getting the texas speed y-pipe to line up. It blowed... the Y-pipe was in 4 peices. It took about 2 hours to install the headers, but took about 2 and a half just to line up the y-pipe. Also, the only clearence problem was the y-pipe under the driver floorboard, it hits the floor, I would just go with a y-pipe in one piece, and make sure it's in one piece, because the one on texas speeds web site shows it in one piece.. All in all, its a good price for the increased performance plus easy to install, compared to hooker/jets.

No they are definatly not equal length, but they are an awesome value, and a great product. No reason not to go with pacesetters if you don't feel like buying stainless.

Have Pacesetters Off road on my car with tsp ORy

Fix your clearance problem = Big fk'ing sledge hammer+huge round socket with long extension.+ Hit it in that spot and make a small curve in the panel you talking about roll up so the Y pipe clears.

Picture on TSP website again, look close you can see its four pieces in the picture.

Headers are best fitting I have ever installed - have installed dynotech, qtp, mac, edelbrock in several cars but pacesetters was by far the easiest to install.

Just my 2 cents worth

Thanks for your replies. I remember reading on their web site that the QTPs stating they were the only equal lengeh for f-body; however, I also remenber that Hooker stated that they were tuned, I thought that ment equal length. I could by wrong. Jet Hots are copies of Hooker I thought they would be tuned also. thanks for all of your helpful info. I think that I am going to get the Pacesetter and catted Y from TSP for $700. Thanks again,

Jason

Are the slp headers worth double the money over the pacesetters, comparing what u get for your dollar and comparing overall performance?

Nope; unless like Blur said, if you want your headers to double as snowplows or stump pullers.

Check on ebay for just the headers. Pacesetters are usually cheaper there; coated anyways.

Their prices must have come down some since last month. I bought the ceramic pacesetters w/catted y from TSP for $700 about a week ago. If you get an offroad Y it's $500.

2 questions?

1. Tuned to what exactly?
2. Do you know what is meant by the terms "tuned" or "equal length" headers?

Click the link in my sig (Exhaust & Induction) and read posts 6 and 13. You'll find it really doens't matter all that much.
