Im prob sure you guys will say the ls6, but I was wondering which would be the easiest to install, the pacesetters with a y, or an ls6 int with the provisions and all??

****, i have done LS6 intake, and Mac headers, and the LS6 intake was WAY easier. I had an easier time putting the intake on than the u/d pulley!

LS6 intake took me about 2.5 hours in no hurry at all, being i didnt want to scratch it up. i spent 4 hours sanding it, and $60 painting it. LS6 intake is EASY. Mac mids were not bad, but way more involved in the LS6 intake. Both were not friendly to the hands.

I still have scars from the wiper cowl puting the intake on

Intake. Takes about an hour. Headers 4+ hours.(if your good)

Shops will charge $100 for an intake & $500+ for headers.

The hardest part is NOT breaking the oil pressure sending unit. It's even harder waiting the week and a half for the replacement.

definitely the intake, and as omega has stated watch out for that p.o.s pressure switch, mine snapped like a twig upon installation of my fast and it sucks waiting a few days for something like that.

Intake swap, no comparision. I did the headers by myself and it was a full day job. With a buddy 6 hours if you know what your doing.

When you do the intake, remove the oil pressure sending immediately or risk breaking it. They are fragile and you need a special socket to remove them (get one at napa or autozone for $7). A new sender is $40. I broke mine and I was being careful.

I've read write ups on how to do the intake, but I haven't heard or see anything about that sending unit. What does it look like and why is it so easy to break?

sending unit wasn't the worst part of my intake swap, it was hooking up the vacuum lines on the back of the intake after i had them swapped. just be sure to unhook the hose from the brake booster that goes to your intake and pull the front of it over to the passenger side. keep your hand on the sending unit.

That's what a broken one looks like It sticks straight up towards the back of the block between the intake and brake booster hose. What happens is when you pull the intake, the hose catches it and snaps it.

The easiest way to keep that from happening is to lift the intake straight up, and twist to front of the intake toward the drivers side. This allows the rear of the manifold to steer away from the oil pressure sendind unit.

get some 5/16 fuel hose cut it into like 1 inch pieces, need 4 slice it down middle, undo the four rear most bolts and raise them up put hose around them to hold them up, do not forget to install them on the new one as they can not be put in with the intake in place on f bodies. Inch pound tqr wrench
