Default Exhaust clamps

I have read a bunch of threads about people asking how to get rid of exhuast leaks (and they don't want to weld).

I have been looking around for a good set of clamps, I have heard great things about walker clamps. So I bought 2 for the hell of it (of course then I wind up needing them, so it came in handy).

I got part # 33272, and am very impressed with its clamping ability and sealing.

They are a little spendy ($20 shipped for 2), but these blow away any clamps I have used in the past, and would recommend them to anybody.

Just thought I'd share my $.02

Just to throw another .02 out there.Ive always got my band clamps from big rig parts stores. They're usually around $4-$6 bucks apiece and have all the major brands/styles.So if you have a rig store around its a good place to look. They also usually have any size you would need 2" to 6".I have the Walkers on my car and think I paid around $5.50 a piece a couple of years ago.

anyone have any problems with leaks with just an average band clamp from a truck parts store? Mine always seem to leak. I put some muffler mend on there for now just to make it sound a little better, but it still seems to leak. Is it just the brand or is there a trick to those bad boys?

Some people have had luck with folding up a bunch of aluminum foil, wrapping it around at the overlap point, then putting the band clamp on top of that.

Stainless Works uses red rtv 02 safe stuff on the pipes at the slip joint before clamping. Really seals well.

How hard would it be to take it apart if you ever had to?

Not hard at all, when I put my new motor in I took it all apart in my garage.

Yep, I assume they use the same. Al Noe from SW said you can buy it at NAPA.

I used a big band clamp to seal my y-pipe to catback (2.75" to 3") and it seals fine. It even keeps it from rattling around. I will eventually get it welded, however.
