I have never experienced a loss in anything with mine except a loss in hearing. One flaw to an electric cutout is that the motor eventually will burnout. But then again your starter will eventually go up etc. IMHO the extra money for the convenience of an electric is well worth it. And no you dont need O2 sims because the cutout is after the O2 sensors to they will still read the exhaust gases as normal.

Maybe if you run dual cutouts on the y-pipe you might loose some torque..but the usual 1 cutout in the I-pipe won't make you lose any power.

when you say in the y pipe is that before or after the cat. how much of a difference would it make if it was before, rather that after?

I think I have less torque with my cutout open.

Ok well to start if you have an F-body pre 1996 you have 1 cat which is after the Y pipe. If its after 1996 it has two cats in the Y pipe basically one after each manifold. Idealy you would want the cutout before the cat becasue the cat casues restriction. In most situations the best place for the cutout would be right before the rear axel.
