Sweet! 100% backpressure?!?!?! I thought backpressure was bad?

Might want to nix the links since they arent sponsors... if you can even buy that stuff?!?!?!

It seems a 694ci box is possible if you were to start the box right at the tranny X-member, but if the ideal "Tuned Collector Length" puts the start of the box further downstream, then maybe not.

I would suspect it to be very similar to the header or intake primary length calculations/formula.

Also, is there anything mentioned about X or H pipes before the box?

This post looks like it may be an answer for my problem,,, but I'd like to get some input.

I'm building a mid-engine kit. I just finished the headers and they are in for final welding so I'm trying to make a decision on the rest. See the first picture to get a feel as to where the collectors are. The origional thought was an X-pipe to Moroso Sprial Flows. Well that's not going to work unless I do a whole bunch of tubing fabrication and even then it's going to look pretty sad. That said,,, what about a box? Well it looks like I can get a box big enough (692 C.I. Correct??) as this mock up is about 750 C.I.

My questions are:

This box is quite a bit different than the ones proposed eariler here. The main difference would be that the pipes, both in and out come in from the long sides as apposed to the short sides making them very close together. Also,,, I'm very concerned about the angle the collector tubing will come in,,, basically both sides angle in toward each other. If you look at the last couple of pictures you'll see a short piece of 3" pipe comming out of the top of the box,,,, this will connect to the collector.

I need some help on this one. Do you think this will work and give the desired results??

The scavenging affect with X pipes only works on systems with no backpressure. If your running a turbo style muffler or a flowmaster then dont waist your money on an X pipe, stick with the H. Just like the crank case evac systems, you need a race style muffler and dumps or they dont work.
