Had my true duals put on today..
I just wanted some, if any, opinions.. I just had my true duals put on today. I decided to go w/ the SpeedINC x-pipe w/ bullet mufflers. One of the local shops had to fabricate some pieces in order to make this setup fit. I'm a little skeptical as of now... I can't decide whether on keeping this true dual setup or going back to my ory/cb (tsp ory/ magnaflow cb) setup. The reason I say this is because I don't know how well the speedinc x-pipe performs, in other words... i'm afraid of losing hp. I'd rather the true dual setup net me the same amount of rwhp/rwtq or more. Any opinions would help greatly! THANKS!

You really don't need a tune for a simple exhaust swap.. More than likely the X pipe set up moved your HP/TQ curves around alittle. You should feel more torque down low and more HP up high over the Y-pipe. It depends how well calibrated your butt dyno is.

You should gain power with it over most y-pipe setups. Reason i say MOST is to satisfy all the y-pipe humpers around here!
Anyway, the sound you get from having duals trumps the 1-2hp that you *might* loose, but i doubt you will.

Sounds like a good set up (however you got there...); I'd give it a while to get used to it and see how it performs. Get it on a dyno so the next time you make a change you'll know if it was good or bad.
...dang, I should have said "Bad choice; swap back and sell it to me cheap..."

FYI
Butt dyno = SOTP = seat of the pants = being able to feel your car accelerate faster
Trump = (dictionary definition)1. A suit in card games that outranks all other suits for the duration of a hand. Often used in the plural (ie trumps).
So when TheBlurLS1 states that the sound of the true duals trumps a possible 1-2hp loss, he is stating that the sound produced outranks (is better than) a small loss in hp.

Come on guys! TRUMP!
Trump can also be used as a verb, like i did.
LS1's trump LT1's......
Never played that cajun *** game Boo-Ray (sp?)? Its the most badass card game in the world! Each hand has whats called "the trump card" whose suit beats all other cards accept for better cards with the same suit.

you don't NEED a tune going to any exhaust system, the computer can compensate for the extra flow reasonably well (thus the reason for O2 sensors!. Thats not to say you won't gain some HP getting it tuned after everything however. There are people running full bolt ons + cam with no tune, although thats really not a good idea
