How to remove stock plug wire boots?
I'm making a coil relocation kit like Mulot30th's and I need some custom length wires. I'll probably go with some universal kit from Summit like Accel or Moroso but I'm not sure what coil-side boots to use.
Are the stock ones HEI style? Looks like Moroso has 135 degree boots but that's for the plug end and I want to use straight boots on the plugs.
Anyway, how can I pull the boots off the stock plug wires? Tried last night on some wires I had laying around and they wouldn't budge. Anyone use soap or Goop or something else?

Re: How to remove stock plug wire boots?
There are boot puller tools that might or
might not fit in the tight spaces. When
I have a boot that's not moving freely,
I like to rotate it with pliers to break
the sticking; then it will come off easy.
The boots I've had don't seem to mind
that (no scuff/tear from moderate grip).
On reinstall, if the boots are continually
"grabbing", you might apply a very light
film of dielectric grease to the plug
neck. Maybe swab the interior of the boot
too, with a Q-tip. Not goop it up, just
make the surface non-stick.

Re: How to remove stock plug wire boots?
Ok, I was able to get the stock boots off the coil side with some soap & water.
I want to order some wires today. Are the terminals on the coil side pretty much a standard size? I have to order a universal kit so would I stand a good chance of getting the right size terminals with it? I'm looking at the Accel 8.8mm wires with spiral core and the Holley 9mm Annihilators.
