Going the True Dual Way
Thanks

You are better off changing cams to get more lope. The X-pipe is going to give you a more tame idle, and a slightly higher-pitched more racy topend sound.

Ditto
Hooker LT's, custom X-pipe, 2 dynomax bullett's, dumped before the rear axle.)Thanks
I had bullets dumped before the axle, and my car was sick loud.

I'm going in another direction with the sound. Yes, I'm changing it again. First off, I love it loud, but want it loud when I want it loud, not all the time. I want to be able to hold a conversation, listen to the music, etc. In addition, I keep breaking the brackets off the back, that hold the bullets on. I assume this is when the engine tq's over on launching.
My solution is, to go back to dumping before the axle. I will keep the X setup, and put cutouts after the X, if I can, if not, then right after the headers.
I have chosen a muffler that is only 3.6" thick, with a 2.5" in & out, and only 7" wide. This should quiet the car right down. It should fit in there real nice. On down the road, I will add electronic cutouts, and consider a side exit, ala NASCAR. Something with a 1.5" opening, and however wide. Probably make it myself.
If you want loud, the true duals you have described will give you that, but will be a sweet loud, not a nasty loud, as in the loudmouth. As far as being loud at idle, you would have to change the cam as stated, if you do not get the sound you want. Good luck.
