Default Fernco Mod ?

The fernco tube doesn't look very flexible. How easy is it to go on? Did anyone have to heat it up at all to get it to flex?

Just bought one, I guess I'll find out tomorrow

i put mine in the microwave for about ten seconds and it went on fine. take off your lid and maf sensor so you can get the throttle body end on first. its much easier that way. i took mine off because my lid wouldnt stay hooked on with it on.

I am SUPPOSED to be getting my new lid from MTI tomorrow so I thought I'd throw the Fernco tube on while I'm at it. Microwave huh? I'll give it a try. Thx.

DO NOT put that stupid thing on your car I have it and it isnt flexable enough to give with engine torque. I broke the 2 pass. side tabs on my clear lid from that thing. Buy the Bakerhose or the SLP hose if you dont want the stock piece.

Just a word of warning and save some $$ in he long run as I now have to buy another lid.

I'll probably order the Baker Hose soon anyway just for asthetics sake. The fernco seems to be ok, but you're right. It doesn't flex very much. I had to nuke it to make it flexible.

Here's another alternative to the Baker/Fernco/SLP hose.

Hell just buy it yourself and trim it. I have one on my 5.3 truck and it works great. It has a 4 inch on one side and 3.5 on the other. I relocated my maf on the truck with this hump hose. These people are great to deal with. Here is the link. http://shop.airflowonline.com/Mercha...tegory_Code=HH

My first Fernco didn't want to go on either, even coaxing with a little oil to slip in place. I nuke'd it for too long in the microwave and killed it. After getting the 2nd Fernco, I didn't like the "toliet hose" look, and got the Baker hose.

Baker is fairly easy to trim to fit.

I like the look better but I think stock bellow's is just as good.

I have had it for over 6 months and NO problems here.....I love it. I cleaned up the ends to make it a little more "pretty" and now it looks really nice (I think).
