throttle body ? would a ported stock throttle body 85mm perform the same as a 85mm slp or 85mm granatelli is there any differance. does polishing one make a little difference or not thanks in advance.

Re: throttle body ? im sure the perfomance is going to be about the same! svae yourself some money and go with thunder racing, have them do a core swap on your stock throttle body! you'll get just about the same performance and about 150.00 dollars cheaper!

Re: throttle body ? I have never seen an 85 mm TB.....(does not mean they don't exsist)......where do people keep getting this from?
BBK is the only company I know of making a "larger" (80 mm) TB.
MAF is different than TB

Re: throttle body ? i want both a bigger throttle body and maf i talked to someone yesterday they said stock tb is 70 mm and you can get it bored to about 75 i beleive he said the other after market ones are bored but still neck back down to like 73 so maybe i should get the factory one bored whats the best maf for the $ and how much diff in hp if i add tb + maf thank you all
Re: throttle body ? IMHO, the throttle body is a better mod to actually gain hp over the MAF. Not to say the MAF doesnt work.
The stock throttle plate is 75mm, the BBK is 80mm. The opening you are talking about in the stock throttle body is 70mm and it is the silencing lip in the stock throttle body that is this size(both f-body and C5) Most ported stock throttle bodies are bored out to 75mm and then blended to achive a more laminar flow path for the air.

Re: throttle body ? The stocker is 75mm as is the ported units, but the inside ridge is removed. The MAF should be one of the last things you should change, I'm running 10's on a stock MAF as are others. The TB's usually show gains of 5-10RWHP depending upon other mods. And they CAN also be an appearance mod. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
