Default Corsa exhaust article

..in July/August Pontiac Enthusiast magazine.
Corsa exhaust installed on a stock '01 WS6 at Vinci Hi-Performance in Orlando, Florida. The car gained 15 hp which is shown in a before & after dyno done at the same shop.

They also state in the article that this exhaust system will not void your new-car warranty.

Also on page 7 in "Short Takes", it says that the Corsa exhaust system has been approved by GM as a GMPSO(service parts organization)licensed product.

Works for me,
Les

Cool, but how do they sound, the little example thing of their website was pretty weak to me, which sucks because i love how the corsa looks, just not how it sounds, but i havent heard one in real life, which i would like to do.

They're pretty quite at idle. Sounds GREAT when it starts. Pretty loud at WOT but not deafening.

That's with stock exhaust manifolds. Now throw some header's and no-cats and you have a loud, nice sounding, great looking system.

I saw that article. Haven't had time to read it in full yet but did read the caption on one of the pictures regarding the dyno. Did they explain why the car dyno'd so low before the exhaust? I forget what the number was, but it was very low compared to what we normally see around here. Just seems a little fishy to me. Reminds me of the Hypertech dyno stats they advertise.

Yes the stock dyno was low for a WS6. 287.6 hp and 312.3 torque. Hell, even after the exhaust it still looked low at 302 hp and 330.8 torque. My 2002 A4 WS6 with the same Corsa exhaust and an SLP lid dynoed at 318 hp and 344 torque - before the cam.

Keep in mind 290-310 are what most 98-00's dyno at. Too bad this is an '01, that doesn't make sense... it should be higher.

Anyway... I guess none of you watch programs like horsepower TV. These clowns don't know how to dyno it's especially funny to watch. I think Horsepower TV dyno'ed a C5 to the tune of like 265rwhp.

I had time to read the entire article now. It didn't say what kind of dyno it was, but it did show the place being Vinci High Performance. Anyone know what kind of dyno they use? Also, it was an A4. Seems hard to believe 15hp over the WS6 exhaust.

BTW, I have the Corsa installed and it is PERFECT !! Not too loud at all when idling but it sounds nice and deep when accellerating. With my ST3500 it can get a bit loud sometimes when taking off but their is NO drone and it is a very comfortable sound level once cruising along. I love it and definitely noticed a small increase in power from the Butt-o-meter.

they use a dynojet. i've useed their dyno many times. theirs is a DOS based dynojet. one if the first on the east coast. mot others are windows based dynojet. the one problem with the windows based dynojets is they have a problem with slippery converters. trying to get readings. i've been on a windows based dynojet at corvette masters. they were within about 2 hp of each other. vinci's dynojet had 30 more rwtq though.

"They also state in the article that this exhaust system will not void your new-car warranty."

I E mailed Pontiac about cat back systems before I put on my Borla. ANY cat back system will not void the warranty. Just leave the cats alone and you can do anything you want.

Very old thread but still good stuff to know.......I agree with everything stated good about corsa but they need to say how often the damn mufflers blow. I am able to say this being a former owner of corsa. I miss the hell out of it but I couldnt stand the rattles anymore and since I bought it used no good on warranty work.

I'm a current Corsa owner and I gotta say I love it. Shame to hear of a few baffles blowing out on some cars, but I haven't had any issues, even with longtubes/ORY. The looks and sound are just delicious if you ask me.

Check out the Corsa page of www.ls1sounds.com, I have quite a few Corsa clips up there.

Man, ya'll really had to dig deep to find this old post. My Corsa has been on the car since it had 1160 miles on it. I have over 35,000 now. It sounds better than ever since the FLP headers, heads & cam were installed.

I dont mean to be negative, but I know A LOT of people that have had problems with corsa systems splitting and cracking. Very commom, Im surprised nobody else mentioned it.

Actually, a couple people mentioned it already. I had 2 mufflers go South, so I will never recommend Corsa to anyone. Their customer service rocks, but after paying for a few muffler installs, you could buy a new exhaust. I went with GMMG, and it is far superior! I just wish I would have kept the Corsa tips. They make that exhaust!
