Default lingerfelter/weiand intake quetion

i was wondering if this intake works with a 98 ls1 egr setup?

here is a pic so you can see it(http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com/catalog/?item=5) , i believe it can, from looking at the hole. however, i just bought one from a ls1tech member, and the hole is blocked off.... so im wondering, did the previous owner block it off? or do they come like that? if so... do i need to relocate the egr to a 01-02 set up? need you insight asap!!

I made my own block off plate for my Weiand/Lingenfelter. It's made of 1/4" aluminum in sort of a triangular shape with a hole drilled for the bolt that holds the egr/block-off to the manifold. You have to make your own, Weiand doesn't have one available. If you have a cut-off wheel and a scrap of metal it will take you about 45 minutes to make. Here's a photo.

You can also use a freeze plug don't recall the exact size. For which ever way you choose with or with out egr.

No you can't. (I found out the hard way) Until I could make the plate, I used a freeze plug just so I could take it around the block after the 2 months of down time. The walls of the intake won't hold the plug in place like the plastic LS1 manifold does. After about 10 miles of driving I was horrified to see that the plug was almost sucked all the way into the manifold!!!

I loosened the freeze plug and redid it to get home and had it tight as hell. When I got home it was sucked down again. Do the plate. Please don't ever use the freeze plug on the Weiand. If that thing gets sucked in you have the chance of it destroying the whole engine.

My experience. FYI -Joshua
