Grotts with SLP Y-Pipe

Grotts with SLP Y-Pipe Want to have the best of both worlds. I already have the Grotts and I want to run the SLP Y-Pipe. Has anyone else done this and if so how did it come out. Also how can I get just the SLP Y-Pipe and how much are they. Thanks Guys
Re: Grotts with SLP Y-Pipe Wouldn't take to much modification. You'll have to have the flanges on the y-pipe and headers mated together. Maybe some 3 bolt flanges on both, and it should bolt right up..I am doing the same thing with my Macs on monday, having an SLP y-pipe mated to them.

Re: Grotts with SLP Y-Pipe I could have sworn that I saw the SLP Y pipe for sale separetely. Maybe It was the Borla Y pipe being sold seperately. I can't remember what site I saw it on. Re: Grotts with SLP Y-Pipe I've had both. The SLP stock Y-pipe replacement is a 2 1/2 inch y-pipe that replaces the factory "Crushed" y-pipe. The y pipe that comes with the SLP headers is 3" and is much shorter than the factory replacement due to the placement of cats/orps

Re: Grotts with SLP Y-Pipe I am talking about using the Y-Pipe that comes with the headers. If I have to I will buy a set of SLP headers and sell the headers and keep the good 3 inch Y. I was thinking of just making some little racepipes and hooking it up that way or screw it just go custom.

Verdad Gallardo Re: Grotts with SLP Y-Pipe The Grott and SLP headers have completely different designs including collector length and flanges. I can't imagine the SLP Y-pipe working with the Grotts without major modifications.
I'd look for a local shop to build you a custom 3" Y-pipe for the Grotts once you get them installed. SLP uses Random Tech 3" 8100-series bullet convertors I believe. You can get these through SLP or another sponsor (cheaper) if you want. Grotts generally use a 2-bolt ball flange at the collector, so you'd need the mating parts for those, some 3" pipe and mandrel bends, the convertors, and a Flowmaster collector with reducer (unless you're running a 4" exhaust) (www.mufflex-performance.com might be a good source for some of this stuff).
