Re: What size bullet muffler to replace LM resonator? Better question does this quiet the LM down a bit? I have the Hooker LT's on order and I know as soon as they go on my car is gonna be really loud even with carsound cat's.

Re: What size bullet muffler to replace LM resonator? I just ordered that particular one. Thanks a lot. I am having it put on before the LM goes on, because I don't want any interior resonance or drone if I can help it. I think the Borla is the best.

How much are the ones at the above links. Check at this link to see if there is a shop near you. Meineke Mufflers

Re: What size bullet muffler to replace LM resonator? These are very high quality stainless, spend the time and money for the correct stainless welds. Do not let them put it on with there normal wire. No muffler shop in my area had the proper setup to weld the bullet on. I had to take it to an industrial welder in town, and from the link above you can see the bead he laid down, top notch welding for sure. With the bullet in place, You really could not tell there was an aftermarket system installed, just alittle deeper note. But when you gag the throttle the car sounds like a late 60's rat motor. I even got some kudos from the mustang crowd with the sound. I run MAC headers and Y-pipe.
On the other hand my brother has the normal LM with stock manifolds/Y-pipe on his 2000 TA and if I ride with him on long trips my head is pounding, but on the short city blasts his car sounds AWSOME. (nothing says FU like a LM rev)

Re: What size bullet muffler to replace LM resonator? Guys, Pics are not working anymore. Did you guys use Borla - 40085 (15" X 5") or Borla 40944
(16" X 7 7/8 X 4 1/2). Looks like 40944 will give me better clearance, but will it fit on the sides? My car is dropped and the "Resonator" is already the lowest spot.

Re: What size bullet muffler to replace LM resonator? I used the Dynomax 24219 (23-24"), and put it in place of the Resonator and it is working out really nicely. I have Hooker LT's, Cam and Cat-free Hooker Y mated to the Loudmouth. With the Dynomax bullet muffler, I don't get the high pitch resonance I did previously...much better! It's a deeper sound now, but at WOT, it's really loud. I'm happy with this mod.
