What size bullet muffler to replace LM resonator?

On the other hand my brother has the normal LM with stock manifolds/Y-pipe on his 2000 TA and if I ride with him on long trips my head is pounding, but on the short city blasts his car sounds AWSOME. (nothing says FU like a LM rev)

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
(16" X 7 7/8 X 4 1/2). Looks like 40944 will give me better clearance, but will it fit on the sides? My car is dropped and the "Resonator" is already the lowest spot.
