Default Cutout - cable or motor options?

I have seen and heard of cut-outs that have a motor or cable that allows you to open up the cut-out without crawling under the car. Anybody know a vendor or have a link?

It's not that I don't want to crawl under the car, but I don't want to crawl under the car. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

There is a cable operated cutout available from Mr. Gasket. Its $47 and you can get it from Jegs. (bottom of pg15-M of their current catalog, online also)

There are two electric cutouts as well:
* One is from QTEC and is available from Quick Time Performance. QTP is a sponsor of this site. The link is available at the right--->.
Its roughly $150.
* The other electric cutout is made by McCord and available on his site (http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm).
Its roughly $100.

I dont own any of these and cannot comment on their quality. Maybe someone else can help you there.

I'm thinking of getting one, just wondering, how does the wire run inside the car? If you could send me any more pics, like where you mounted the switch, I would appreciate it. jules301h@comcast.net

Thanks for the tips. I would also be interested in knowing where you placed the switch.

My favorite saying is "Buyer Beware, you get what you pay for"

from what I read numerous times, is that QTEC mkes a very high quality item and Mccleod has a tendancy to break. So m advice it to go wih QTEC, from what I read great quality, great customer support and just great people.

There is a groumet right by the cutout under the rear seat. Take out the rear seat and consel fish the wire through. Drill a 1/2" hole in the ashtray
becareful its more britlle than plastic. Hook up the wires put it all back together and you done!!!

Too cool. I believe I will put mine to the side and not directly to in the middle of the ash tray in case I come up with some James Bond add on.

The switch is BIG on the bottom. You have have to center it so ashtry will fit back.

I assume any kind of switch could be wired in? Is it just a regular on/off two wire switch or something more complex(not that I'm a electrician or even play one on TV)?

Power and a ground wire and it is a 3 way toggle switch ie Open, close, and neutral.

Thanks for the kind word <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I have them on Mustang GTs but not on a V6 stang. I do have one on my GTP which is a 6 banger and sounds good.
Anyone have any questions feel free to call me.
